In The Battling Eevee Brothers, Ash and his friends came across an Eevee tied to a tree and noticed its collar has an address on it, and soon arrived at Stone Town to return the Eevee. They located the Eevee Brothers' mansion, where they were hosting an Evolution stone party.
Sparky, Rainer and Pyro were glad to see Eevee returned, though Eevee's Trainer Mikey wasn't. Mikey explained to Misty that his older brothers were throwing the Evolution party to force him to evolve Eevee. The brothers believed that evolution was the only way to make a Pokémon strong, and they also tried to convince Brock and Ash to evolve their Vulpix and Pikachu, but both refused.
Team Rocket crashed the party, taking the party food, stones and the Pokémon. Thanks to Misty's Horsea using its ink, the group and the Eevee Brothers followed the trail. The brothers used their Pokémon to battle Team Rocket, but Arbok and Weezing defeated them. Eevee was returned to Mikey, and together they defeated Team Rocket. Mikey's victory earned his brothers' respect, and they supported his wish to become an Eevee Trainer.
Sparky (Japanese: ライゾウ Raizō) has golden hair styled in tall spikes. His signature Pokémon is Jolteon. He boasts it is the best because when angered, its fur becomes sharp as needles which it can launch at the opponent using Pin Missile.

Sparky's Jolteon is a Pokémon Sparky evolved alongside the other owner's Pokémon. Its only appearance was in The Battling Eevee Brothers, where it first appeared at a Stone Town evolution party alongside the other owners and Vaporeon and Flareon. Sparky then boasted how powerful Jolteon was, getting into an argument with the other brothers. Team Rocket appeared, and stole it and all the other Pokémon including the Evolution stones. Later they found Team Rocket from the ink trail left by Misty's Horsea, and were able to free them all except for Eevee. Jolteon fought Jessie's Arbok with Pin Missile, but was knocked out by Arbok's own Pin Missile. Mikey and his Eevee went on to send Team Rocket blasting off. Later, Sparky and Jolteon posed for a group photo to commemorate Mikey's decision to become an Eevee Trainer. Jolteon's only known move is Pin Missile. | ||

Rainer, Pyro, and Sparky—along with Mikey—appear in To Evolve or Not to Evolve, That is the Question!. Rainer, Pyro, and Sparky are members of a fellowship named the Knights of the E Stone. To join, members are required to own at least one Pokémon which was evolved by means of an Evolution stone. Joining The Knights of The E Stone is a family tradition which the brothers have upheld, and they pressure Mikey to evolve his Eevee so that he may join, too.
With Ash's help, Mikey's Eevee and Ash's Pikachu defeat all three brothers to earn Mikey the right to join the fellowship without evolving his Eevee.
The brothers are shown to have a playful side in the manga as well, teasing Mikey about Misty being his "girlfriend" and disappearing in a cloud of smoke when they leave the room.
According to this canon, Rainer is the oldest of the brothers, followed by Pyro and then Sparky.
